BOXFORD, Mass. (AP) - School district officials say a student was found to have had a weapon on campus in a Boxford high school’s second weapon-related incident in less than a week.

The Salem News reports (https://bit.ly/2hmUBAj ) Masconomet Regional School District superintendent Kevin Lyons said in an email Wednesday that an investigation confirmed a student brought a BB gun to Masconomet Regional High School on Monday; a second student was involved.

A BB gun is categorized as a firearm under state law. Police say they’ve filed charges against the two students. It’s unclear what charges they face.

Last week, officials said a loaded rifle and alcohol was found in the trunk of a student’s car. The district said the student has been appropriately disciplined. The student was charged criminally in juvenile court.
