RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say two men have been arrested on charges of kidnapping and robbing a taxi driver in northern New Jersey.
Wilber Barahona of Ridgewood and Jostin Reyes of Waldwick face charges including carjacking, kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Police say the pair hailed a taxi on Dec. 26 and ordered the driver to pull over in Ridgewood.
Police say they then assaulted and robbed the Paterson driver after stopping before kidnapping the driver and travelling to the New York State Thruway in his taxi.
Police say they then dumped the driver on the side of the Thruway, causing the driver to suffer several non life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
Records show the men are being jailed on $400,000 bail.
It’s not known if the men have lawyers.
