WASHINGTON (AP) - Police have arrested a woman who they say stabbed a man as he slept on a chair in a hospital waiting room in northeastern Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release that 29-year-old Janet Daniels was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assault with intent to kill.
Police say the incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Providence Hospital. The victim suffered a deep wound to the left side of his head. Police say hospital security restrained the suspect, who was found sitting on a floor in handcuffs with a bloody knife nearby.
Authorities are saying the attack was random.
It’s unclear if Daniels has an attorney.
