CLEVELAND (AP) - Prosecutors in northeast Ohio say a man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting two 6-year-old twins.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office says Kabron Norman received two consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole on Friday.

Prosecutors say the 42-year-old Cleveland man raped the sisters between January and April of 2013 while he was babysitting them and their 8-year-old brother. The brother saw the sexual assault and told his mother.

Norman, who was a friend of the family, was indicted in 2014 on charges including rape, kidnapping and gross sexual imposition charges. He was convicted on 10 counts.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ronni Ducoff called the sentence a “gift” compared to the “trauma” the girls felt.” He says one victim demonstrated part of the assault for jurors.
