CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A former Cody police officer accused of using excessive force and strip searching a suspect in 2010 has settled the lawsuit against him.

The Cody Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1Qx23Zz ) that former Cody Assistant Police Chief George Menig said Wednesday that the lawsuit against him has been dismissed and $16,000 has been awarded to Juan Paul Flores.

Police say Flores was arrested in 2010 after he said he would blow himself up with nitroglycerin he had swallowed.

Flores filed a lawsuit last year alleging Menig ripped his clothes off and shocked him with a Taser, all while he was handcuffed. Footage of the incident surfaced years later, and Menig was placed on administrative leave. He resigned from the department in September.
