SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a fatal shooting in Federal Way that they say was motivated by a drug deal.

The Seattle Times reports (https://bit.ly/1T0IKs2 ) a Federal Way police spokeswoman says the boy was arrested Thursday and booked into a juvenile detention center.

The 16-year-old victim, Wesley Gennings, was reportedly shot Feb. 13 in a vehicle parked outside a fast-food restaurant.

Police say the suspect told investigators he and a 14-year-old boy had been in the car with Gennings to buy marijuana when the shooting occurred.

The Federal Way School District issued a statement Friday saying they are working with police to ensure students’ safety at Saghalie Middle School, where the second suspect is believed to be a student. Police say he’s considered armed and dangerous.
