CARROLLTON, Miss. (AP) - Authorities have arrested two men suspected of robbing elderly residents during a pair of home invasions near Carrollton.

Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker told The Greenwood Commonwealth (https://bit.ly/1oP757x) that 28-year-old Charles E. Chandler, of Greenwood, and 37-year-old Robert Earl Covington, of North Carrollton, were arrested Friday on kidnapping and burglary charges.

Earlier Friday, two men allegedly broke into the home of a couple in their early 80s, assaulted them and stole guns before fleeing.

Authorities say two men tied up and assaulted a 95-year-old man in his home on Thursday morning.
