WESTBROOK, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a man reported missing by his family earlier this week has been found dead inside his car in a supermarket parking lot.

Westbrook police said the body of 48-year-old Paul Spaltro of Portland was found Saturday morning inside his vehicle.

The Portland Press Herald (bit.ly/1UqM2E1) quotes police as saying his death does not appear to be suspicious. His golden retriever was found unharmed inside the vehicle and was turned over to family members.

Spaltro’s family last heard from him on Tuesday and reported him missing on Wednesday. He had been living at a motel.

Authorities say an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and circumstances of Spaltro’s death.
