LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dense fog is making for a murky morning drive in much of Southern California.

An unusual hazy layer over downtown Los Angeles was forcing drivers to slow down amid low visibility.

In San Diego and Orange counties, a marine layer and weak onshore flow on Monday morning are bringing dense fog that is creeping inland across Interstate 5.

The National Weather Service says visibility is at less than a quarter mile along the freeway. The weather service says Interstate 15 is also likely to have visibility problems.

A fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m., when it’s expected to dissipate.
