ORANGE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a one-car crash in upstate New York has left one woman dead and a man hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Star-Gazette of Elmira reports (https://stargaz.tt/1naihdl ) an 82-year-old Lowman man was traveling on Route 16 in Orange on Sunday morning when his vehicle went off the road and hit a telephone pole.

Authorities say 81-year-old Esther Cooper was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was airlifted to a hospital where police say he’s in critical condition.



The crash is under investigation.
