LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a Las Vegas woman is accused of trying to smuggle almost an ounce of methamphetamine to her boyfriend at a Nevada prison outside Las Vegas.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said Monday that 21-year-old Keondre Ridley was arrested Feb. 21 while trying to visit inmate Mustafa Kyles at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs.

Kyles is serving 3-to-10 years for robbery and stolen property convictions in Las Vegas. His former lawyer says he doesn’t represent him now.

Ridley is being held on $25,000 bail at the Clark County jail pending a March 8 court appearance on felony drug trafficking and attempted smuggling charges.

Her public defender declined to comment.

Officials say 21-year-old Kyles is expected to also face criminal charges following a prisons inspector general investigation.
