PARIS (AP) - France’s health minister says five men hospitalized after taking part in an experimental drug test that killed another volunteer have all returned home and their condition continues to improve.

Marisol Touraine says doctors say it’s too early to declare the men totally cured, and a full report into the cause of the “exceptionally serious and unprecedented” Jan. 10 incident won’t be finished until late March.

Touraine spoke Thursday to present a status update on the investigation into what went wrong with the trial, which involved 90 healthy volunteers and was carried out by the Rennes, France-based Biotrial company.

Touraine faulted Biotrial’s response in the days after the crisis erupted, but said there was no reason to suspend its authorization to carry out drug trials.
