ABERDEEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a rabid pit bull bit at least three people and several dogs in central New Jersey.

Monmouth County health officials are asking residents who may have been bitten by a dog recently to contact them immediately because the dog tested positive for rabies.

Officials say the dog was living with an Aberdeen family and wasn’t vaccinated for rabies when it contracted the disease.

Health officials say four people are undergoing treatment for exposure.

Kim Davis tells WNBC-TV that she has received rabies shots after being bitten on the finger by her daughter’s dog. Davis says the dog, Champ, lived in the backyard with three other dogs, which have since been isolated.
