BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - One of four men who died in a canoe accident at a southern Wisconsin lake was a University of Colorado student.

CU spokesman Ryan Huff confirms that 21-year-old Patrick Wetzel, of Winnetka, Illinois, died in the accident earlier this month. The Daily Camera reports (https://goo.gl/skOU7d ) Wetzel was a senior majoring in political science.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says Wetzel’s body was pulled Jan. 8 from Mill Lake, which is about 35 miles southwest of Milwaukee. The bodies of three other young men were found earlier in the week.

The four friends, ages 20 to 23, were reported missing Jan. 3. State officials say the men left a lake house where they were spending the weekend and apparently took a canoe out in the middle of the night.
