CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Despite winning a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings, Robyn Regehr retired as a Calgary Flame.

The Flames welcomed Regehr back at a news conference to announce his retirement on Monday.

The defenseman played 11 seasons in Calgary before he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres and then to the Kings.

Regehr won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2014 before his final season in the NHL.

Regehr ranks second all time in games played for the Flames with 826.

The 35-year-old also played for Canada in the 2006 Olympics.
