JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A former registered nurse has been arrested, accused of illegally obtaining patient’s drugs.

Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release, said 34-year-old Samuel Chase Henderson, of Indianola, was booked Monday following an indictment by a Sunflower County Grand Jury on three felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Each count carries up to five years behind bars and a $1,000 fine.

Henderson was released from the Sunflower County Jail after posting $10,000 bond. It was unknown if he is represented by an attorney who could comment on the case.

Arraignment is set for Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

At the time of the alleged crimes, Henderson was a nurse employed at Sunflower County Hospital.
