PITTSBURGH (AP) - A former Pennsylvania high school teacher charged with having sex with a student is back behind bars to await trial.

An Allegheny County judge on Thursday revoked Jason Cooper’s bond after hearing from an eyewitness who said she saw the former Plum High School teacher drive by the girl’s home in her neighborhood on Dec. 23.

Defense attorney Michael DeRiso says the 38-year-old Cooper attended a retirement meeting in Pittsburgh that day, an event that didn’t leave him enough time to go by the girl’s home as alleged.

But prosecutors say there would have been light traffic that day.

Cooper faces charges of institutional sexual assault and witness intimidation. Trial is scheduled for Feb. 17.
