PHOENIX (AP) - A contractor is wanted in Arizona for allegedly being unlicensed and defrauding several families out of thousands of dollars.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office said Wednesday that a warrant has been issued for Rafael Servellon, who officials believe is on the run.

Prosecutors say a grand jury indicted Servellon last month on nine counts of theft and two counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices.

The charges were the result of a state Registrar of Contractors’ investigation.

Prosecutors have been unable to locate Servellon since then.

According to the indictment, Servellon stole more than $21,000 from eight different families between April 2009 and July 2015.

He had promised to do remodeling work on their homes but allegedly abandoned the work after receiving payment.
