DETROIT (AP) - U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx is joining officials in Detroit to launch a final push of the third health insurance open enrollment period.
An event about the Affordable Care Act takes place Friday at the Boll Family YMCA.
Foxx, Detroit Mayor Michael Duggan, Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, Enroll America Michigan State Director Erin Knott and others are participating in the event.
Over the next two weeks, community organizations will be offering free appointments across the city for consumers to meet with in-person enrollment assisters before the Jan. 31 enrollment deadline. The current open enrollment period started Nov. 1.
