MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Minot man is being held in the Ward County Jail after authorities say he assaulted his fiancée and held her against her will.

The Minot Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1nfTZ2w ) the man is accused of physically assaulting his fiancée on Saturday morning. Police say he then held her in a basement, refusing to let her leave.

The man is being charged with felonious restraint, a Class C felony, and simple assault, a Class B misdemeanor.



The woman was treated for her injuries at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
