ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Police have arrested a third person who may be connected to the fatal stabbing of an Albuquerque man late last year.
Albuquerque police say 23-year-old Larry Phillips is in custody on a stolen car charge and a warrant for tampering with evidence in connection with the Dec. 26 death of 55-year-old William McKinley.
It’s unclear how Phillips is connected to the case or if he has a lawyer.
Police say officers pulled over a stolen car last Friday and the driver fled, but he was taken into custody shortly thereafter and identified as Phillips.
Two other men were indicted Jan. 14 on second-degree murder with an alternative of first-degree murder in the McKinley case.
They also are accused of other counts of aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, larceny and conspiracy.
