HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for shooting an officer last week.

Police issued the plea for assistance on Tuesday.

Police say the officer was standing next to a marked patrol car when he was shot on Jan. 13. The officer was treated for a gunshot wound to his right leg and released from the hospital hours later.

The officer had been assisting the narcotics division to execute a warrant at the location. No officers discharged their weapons.
