ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison in the death last spring of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

The (Allentown) Morning Call (https://bit.ly/1ODQr0p ) reports that 18-year-old Tyreek Muldrow of Allentown pleaded guilty Tuesday in Lehigh County to third-degree murder and attempted suicide.

Prosecutors said Muldrow fired numerous shots from an AR-15 rifle at the woman and 20-year-old Tymel Kenney of Wilmington, Delaware. Kenney was killed and the woman was wounded.

Police said Muldrow drove past the couple and said something derogatory, then got out of the vehicle, argued with Kenney, and opened fire.

Judge Robert Steinberg called the case “senseless.”
