MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Promoters for Myrtle Beach’s Carolina Country Music Fest are asking city officials for $100,000 in accommodations tax revenue to advertise and promote its next festival this spring.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach (https://bit.ly/1V7FwzZ ) reports that festival representative Sheila Fletcher requested the money during a special Myrtle Beach City Council workshop Tuesday, saying that the festival has already sold 6,000 tickets for this year’s event, which will feature Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line as headlining acts.

Festival President and CEO Bob Durkin said in a letter that last’s year’s inaugural festival resulted in more than 30,000 hotel reservations.

Fletcher says the requested money would be used for out-of-market advertising and promotions.

The festival is set for June 10-12 at the former site of the Myrtle Beach Pavilion.
