SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The family of a 25-year-old woman whose corpse was stolen from a casket after her funeral is suing the San Antonio mortuary handling the funeral arrangements.

The family of Julie Mott is seeking more than $1 million in damages from Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The San Antonio Express-News (https://bit.ly/1ZCh0s8) reports family members allege the mortuary was grossly negligent in the disappearance of Mott’s body after her August funeral. Mott died Aug. 8 of cystic fibrosis, and her body had intended to have her body cremated.

The funeral home offered a $20,000 reward shortly after the disappearance for information leading to those who took Mott’s body sometime between her Aug. 15 funeral and the next day, when her corpse was discovered to be missing. Her body still hasn’t been found.
