SOMERSWORTH, N.H. (AP) - Fire officials say one man was seriously injured and two families were displaced after a fire broke out at a multi-family house in southeastern New Hampshire.
Foster’s Daily Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1NjL5Wa ) fire crews were dispatched to the blaze at a home on Grand Street in Somersworth around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire Chief Keith Hoyle says arriving units found an injured man outside as flames were burning the second floor of the structure.
Hoyle says firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack as emergency personnel tended to the injured man outside. He was initially taken to a hospital in Dover before being airlifted to a facility in Boston for advanced treatment.
Officials say the fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage. Hoyle says the blaze originated in a second floor bedroom.
