FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a body recovered from a submerged truck in the Folly River is connected to an out-of-state missing person case.

Folly Beach Public Safety Department Chief Andrew Gilreath tells local media that authorities pulled the body and the white pickup truck from the water Thursday evening at the Folly Beach boat landing in Charleston County.

Authorities say they estimate the body was inside the truck for about a month.

Gilreath did not say which state the missing person case involves or how officers knew to look for the truck in the river.

The Charleston County Coroner has not yet identified the deceased.
