PITTSBURGH (AP) - A 20-inch water main has burst in Pittsburgh, flooding a street, damaging at least four buildings and leaving more than 100 customers without water.

Pennsylvania American Water spokeswoman Josephine Posti says the line broke before 3:30 a.m. Friday in the city’s Banksville section.

It flooded Potomac Avenue, covering some cars up to their hoods, and damaged at least three homes and an auto parts store.

Posti says it will probably take most of the day to repair the break because of the size of the line. Crews have shut off the water supply to the line and were letting the water drain from the area before digging to begin repairs.
