Washington Capitals star hockey play Alex Ovechkin was spotted at a gas station during a historic blizzard Friday in Washington D.C. getting last minute fuel for his personal snowplow.

Mr. Ovechkin told local CBS reporters that he would be clearing off driveways for his neighbors.

“There’s nothing else to do anyway,” Mr. Ovechkin told CBS.

Winter storm Jonas is expected to dump up to 30 inches of snow on the nation’s capital over the weekend. But while the rest of the city hunkers down inside to wait out the storm, Mr. Ovechkin says he’s used to the harsh weather.

“We’re from Russia,” where they “always have that kind of stuff,” he told ABC.
