AMITE, La. (AP) - Prosecutors in Tangipahoa Parish say a 28-year-old Hammond man who solicited nude photos from with a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
William Knight was sentenced Tuesday.
In 2013, investigators learned the victim had been sent “obscene photos” of a man who suggested the two video chat and become friends with benefits. Using information from Yahoo and Skype, they tracked the online accounts to locations in Tangipahoa Parish and found Knight.
District Attorney Scott Perrilloux said in a news release Knight originally was arrested on a solicitation count, and as authorities searched his computer hard drive, they found pornographic pictures and videos depicting underage girls, some younger than 13.
Knight was charged with 14 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
