PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man near Port Angeles after a standoff involving a hostage ended peacefully about six hours later.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Lyman Moores said they got a tip Tuesday morning about the location of 33-year-old Ordez Kompkoff and girlfriend Katelynn Coffman.
Deputies went to a residence in an RV park and say they arrested Coffman and Kompkoff’s mother, Miranda Kompkoff, on outstanding warrants a short time later.
Officials say Ordez Kompkoff, who had a felony warrant out for his arrest, refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside. Deputies say in a phone call, Kompkoff threatened to shoot law enforcement officers and held a 33-year-old man hostage at gunpoint in the residence.
He surrendered without incident after hours of negotiations and was booked into jail on numerous charges.
