PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police have been aggressively urging residents not to save street parking spots through its “No ’savesies’” campaign that featured a Drake parody.
But the Philadelphia Daily News (https://bit.ly/205GkMI) reports that a pregnant woman and her husband, who is undergoing cancer treatment, are defying the edict that residents can’t save shoveled-out parking spots following last weekend’s massive snowstorms.
Teri Gilbert and her husband, Mike, said they shoveled out a space in front of their home after last weekend’s storm and taped a sign on a cone that reads: “This spot was shoveled by a cancer patient for himself and his pregnant wife. Kindly dig out your own spot! Thank you!!”
Police say they haven’t’ received any reports of fights over saved spots.
