WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says a man was injured in a fight that broke out on the red line and six juveniles have been arrested.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says that the man was getting off at the Gallery Place station Thursday morning when he got into an altercation with a group of juveniles waiting to board the train. Stessel says the train was intercepted at the Woodley Park station and about 30 juveniles were taken off the train. He says six Woodrow Wilson High School students ages 16 and 17 were arrested and are expected to be charged with felony assault.
Trains were delayed in both directions 10 to 15 minutes. Metro originally reported the victim was a girl. Stessel says his injuries are non-life-threatening but include a laceration to the head.
