CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say they’re searching for an Ohio teen serving time in her step-father’s killing after she escaped during a Zumba class.

The Ohio Department of Youth Services says the 17-year-old was in a supervised class Wednesday at a Cleveland recreation center when she ran away.

The department says staff members couldn’t catch up before she disappeared.

The girl has been in a Cleveland-area behavioral health center since August 2014 after she was sentenced to five years on a juvenile charge of complicity to aggravated murder.

They say she and four adults teamed up in the killing of her 61-year-old stepdad in 2012, and that they planned to split money from a life insurance policy.

Authorities believe the girl may be trying to get to Marion where she had lived.
