WOODLAND PARK, N.J. (AP) - The Record newspaper has named a new editor and managing editor.

Deirdre Sykes was named the newspaper’s editor on Friday, which was the final day of Martin Gottlieb’s four years in charge of editorial at the media company. Dan Sforza was named managing editor.

Sykes started at The Record in 1987 and previously served as assignment director.

Sforza started at the newspaper as a news clerk in 1994 and was previously associate assignment director.

Douglas Clancy remains executive editor of the newspaper, which is based in Woodland Park and also publishes NorthJersey.com.

Gottlieb spent the last four years at the newspaper as vice president and editor after serving as global editions editor for the New York Times.
