IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - University of Iowa workers are looking for an escaped research goat.

A University of Iowa press release says the male goat escaped just before 9 a.m. Friday while being transferred from a portable carrier to a vehicle. The goat was being transported from the University of Iowa Research Park to a housing facility when the animal escaped.

The animal was last seen near a Coralville golf course.

The university says the goat poses no public health risk. UI veterinarians say the goat may seek out food in residential areas.

The goat is described as white and cream-colored, about 125 pounds and the size of a small deer.
