PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police in Pittsburgh say a woman has died after being hit by a truck Friday evening.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. when the woman stepped into Maytide Street near Bethesda Street in the city’s Carrick neighborhood.
A police spokeswoman says in a statement that the victim was taken to UPMC Mercy hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after 7 p.m.
WPXI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1P36hSG ) there was no immediate word on whether the driver of the truck stayed at the scene but police say it wasn’t a hit-and-run incident.
The accident is under investigation.
