CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police have arrested a man who is suspected in the shooting death of another man during a transaction involving drugs.

Authorities said Saturday that Bayrd Goddeau has been booked into Maricopa County Jail on first-degree murder.

According to police, Goddeau and two other men were at a home Friday around 9:45 p.m. for a drug-related interaction when the occupant of the home was fatally shot by one of the three.

Police say the trio fled but a witness identified Goddeau.

Investigators tracked Goddeau to Mesa and arrested him without incident.

The other two suspects, who are described as black, remain at large.

The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

It wasn’t clear if Goddeau had a lawyer yet.
