WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) - When state Sen. Sally Fox died two years ago, she was remembered as a champion of poor and disabled Vermonters. Now a conference center at the new state office complex in Waterbury has been named for the Chittenden County Democrat.

State officials and friends gathered for the dedication of the conference center at the newly reconstructed state office complex in Waterbury on Friday. The $130 million reconstruction and renovation project at the office complex had its grand opening in December, more than four years after the previous complex was flooded by Tropical Strom Irene.

A main purpose of the new complex will be to serve as headquarters of the state Agency of Human Services. Human services were a main focus for Fox during her years in the Legislature.
