HOUSTON, Mo. (AP) - A southern Missouri man is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife.
Texas County authorities say Steven Sprous of Ellis Prairie was also charged Wednesday with four counts of armed criminal action, first-degree sodomy and two weapons charges.
His wife, 23-year-old Courtney Sprous, was found dead at the couple’s home early Wednesday.
KYTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1mFLjSK ) Texas County and Missouri State Highway Patrol officers responding to a call about shots fired found two other homes hit with gunfire before finding the victim’s body.
Ellis Prairie is in western Texas County, about 10 miles northwest of Houston.
Online court records don’t indicate that Sprous has an attorney to speak for him.
