BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have charged three people in the death of a woman whose body was found in a shallow grave in Beaufort County.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the remains of 25-year-old Katherine Collier of Yemassee were found at a home in Burton.

Deputies say her boyfriend, 28-year-old Charles Brown, of Burton, is charged with murder. Brown’s brother, Olin Brown, and their mother, Nancy Kennedy, are charged with accessory after the fact.

It was not immediately clear if the three had attorneys.

Authorities say an investigation into the death of a man whose body was found burned in a vehicle in Yemassee last month led investigators to the grave. Deputies think the deaths are related but there have been no charges in that death.
