PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A Mission woman has been sentenced for assaulting a federal officer.

U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says 30-year-old Alvina Leader Charge struck a Rosebud Sioux officer in the face and chest and threatened her life when the officer was arresting her June 30, 2015.

Leader Charge later pleaded guilty and was sentenced this week to time served, at least four months in a residential re-entry program and two years of supervised release.
