EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was shot in the head and killed last month in northeast Ohio.
Police found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of his head in East Cleveland during the early morning hours of Dec. 28. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Cleveland.com reports that the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner on Thursday identified the body as 56-year-old Lawrence Gavin. A coroner’s official on Friday said Gavin was a resident of East Cleveland.
Officials say they had trouble contacting Gavin’s family, causing a delay in releasing his name.
East Cleveland police have not released any details on the shooting or the shooter.
