COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A former youth director at a Columbia church has pleaded guilty to child sex crimes.

The Columbia Daily Tribune (https://bit.ly/29JjhCm ) reports that 44-year-old Dale G. Johnson admitted Monday to one count of second-degree promoting child pornography and two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy. He faces up to seven years in prison on each count when he is sentenced Aug. 22.

He was arrested in March 2015 after an investigation determined he had sexually assaulted a girl multiple times starting in 2013. The investigation was prompted by a hotline call to the Missouri Division of Children’s Services.

Johnson was the youth director at Parkade Baptist Church until February 2015, when administrators learned of the investigation and placed him on leave. He later resigned.
