CLEVELAND (AP) - The list of speakers at next week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland includes an Ohio man who learned to walk again after he was paralyzed in a car crash.

The partial list Thursday doesn’t include any current or former elected officials from Ohio. Gov. John Kasich, who ran for the presidential nomination that presumably will go to Donald Trump, has said he doesn’t know if he’ll attend the convention.

The list includes Brock Mealer, from Wauseon (WAH’-see-ahn). Mealer was given a 1 percent chance to walk after a 2007 car crash that killed his dad.

His brother also was hurt but went on to play football at Michigan; Mealer did his rehab at that university’s hospital and with the football program’s strength and conditioning coaches. He’s now able to walk unassisted.
