COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) - Animal abuse and other charges have been filed against an Oregon man accused of trapping and torturing an injured fawn.

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Steven Tallhunter of Powers illegally trapped the animal in early June and tortured it over the course of four days before it died.

The (Coos Bay) World reports (https://is.gd/kygkuX ) Tallhunter was arrested Sunday and has since been released from custody as he awaits court proceedings.

Besides the allegation of animal abuse, Tallhunter is charged with reckless driving, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

The sheriff’s office says Tallhunter illegally drove onto Powers Airport property June 26, damaging the runway and nearly hitting someone.
