ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 26-year-old woman has been sentenced for her role in the fatal shooting of a man in front of his pregnant girlfriend after the couple left a Rochester bar last year.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says Sherri McDonald was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years to life for her second-degree murder conviction.

Authorities say McDonald drove Jerome Phillips to a street near a Rochester bar Bradie Davis and his girlfriend had just left in early 2015. Phillips approached the couple from behind and fired multiple gunshots into Davis’ back. McDonald then drove Phillips back home.

Davis was able to get his girlfriend to safety by opening his car door before collapsing. He later died from his wounds.

Phillips and McDonald were convicted of murder last March. Phillips was sentenced last month to 25 years to life.
