OCONTO, Wis. (AP) - A Pulaski man charged in a hit-and-run death has pleaded no contest to a reduced felony charge in Oconto County.
WLUK-TV (https://bit.ly/29HjXEI ) says 35-year-old Joseph Anderson entered the plea to homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle Thursday. Anderson had been charged with hit and run causing death. His plea reduces his possible prison time from 25 to 10 years.
Anderson struck and killed 51-year-old George Birr on county Highway S last December. Anderson was arrested a few days later following a tip to police. A jury trial was scheduled to start Friday. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16.
