RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police say they have charged a 44-year-old woman with the shooting death of her husband in a Raleigh apartment.
Authorities told media outlets that officers were called to the home around 3 a.m. Friday and found 54-year-old Mark Rice dead.
The person who called 911 told the operator she heard a loud noise while she was sleeping but wasn’t sure if it was a gunshot or someone banging against a wall.
Authorities say Mark Rice was arrested in 2014 for assaulting his wife. Neighbors say they often heard the couple argue.
Tara Rice is charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond. It wasn’t known if she had an attorney.
