DUNDALK, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County Police say two officers were injured when they were hit by cars in separate encounters during a narcotics investigation.

The department says in a news release that undercover detectives were in Dundalk late Thursday morning when they say what they believed to be a drug deal between people in two cars. Police say when detectives approached the cars, one hit a detective and left the scene.

Officers say a detective saw a car that one of the suspects was in and approached it. Police say that car hit the detective.

Investigators say two people were taken into custody. The first detective who was hit by a car was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries. The other detective sustained minor injuries and did not go to a hospital.
